When the heat is on, it comes as no surprise that desert hues crop up on the catwalks, on the high street and in our wardrobe.

This year is no different, with the desert trend still bang on – it doesn’t look like it’s going away any time soon. So here’s a closer look at this classic trend, and tips on how to style with some of your favourite Duo boots.

The Textures

Remember, when it doubt – keep it light. The sorts of materials and textures we’re seeing span from silks, to lace and cotton. When it comes to jackets, handbags and shoes – suede or nubuck is your friend.

The last thing you want to find is a really structured, stiff outfit when it comes to the desert or safari look. Think loose silhouettes, lots of draping and layers, with a boho feel. However, if you want to keep a bit of shape to your outfit, cinching in at the waist is a great and simple way to get this effect.

It probably goes without staying that you should keep away from dark, wintry colours. So think neutrals, like tan and khaki. You could even go as dark as a light chocolate brown perhaps? But to add a hint of excitement or glam, metallic accessories work a treat, along with animal print.
